Johnny Depp Lists a Five-Penthouse Home in Los Angeles

bn-px354_0922de_m_20160920143258

Johnny Depp’s five condo units—four two-bedrooms and one one-bedroom—are perched atop the Eastern Columbia Building, a circa 1930 art deco structure known for its four-sided clock tower, said Mr. Dees, who is listing the property with colleague Nick Segal.

According to public records, Johnny Depp bought the condos from the developer for about $7.2 million in a series of transactions between 2007 and 2008. He then left the layout of each apartment as it was. He added doorways connecting three of the units, which he used as his living and entertaining space, while the other two served as an art studio and a guest suite.

The units, which total about 11,500 square feet, can be purchased together or separately.

Johnny Depp to Receive Charity Award for His Support of Cancer Patients in Need

vampires

Johnny Depp is scheduled to accept the inaugural Rhonda’s Kiss Healing and Hope Award.

The organization, which helps cancer patients in need, is putting on a concert on Thursday, Nov. 3, at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and the 53-year-old actor is expected to attend. Proceeds from the event — which will have Weezer performing and Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath emceeing — will go to the Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

“Cancer affects many lives and this year it was my family’s turn,” Depp said in a statement. “The team at Cedars-Sinai works tirelessly to help people in their darkest moments. Their work is invaluable to all of us, and I will support any opportunity to help shine a light on the cause through Rhonda’s Kiss.”

In May, Depp’s mother died after battling a long illness. She was 81. “The contributions Johnny has continually made in honor of his mother have been instrumental in helping us to develop the kind of research we need to move the needle forward in the fight against lung cancer,” Dr. Mirhadi said, adding that Depp has made “regular visits” with cancer patients, and has been “instrumental in supporting research on lung cancer in our department at Cedars-Sinai.”

General admission tickets are currently sold out for the Rhonda’s Kiss event, but limited VIP tickets are still available at www.rhondaskiss.org.

Open Road Acquires Johnny Depp Crime Thriller ‘Labyrinth’

Open Road Pictures has acquired the crime thriller “Labyrinth” starring Johnny Depp as a detective who investigates the Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. murders.

Brad Furman is directing with production set to start in mid-November.

Miramax is partnering and co-financing with Open Road Films for U.S. distribution. Good Universe is handling international sales for remaining territories.

“Labyrinth” is an edgy and timely investigative thriller that will make a great addition to our slate,” said Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg in a statement. “Johnny Depp is perfect for the project and we are thrilled to be in business with him, Miriam Segal, Brad Furman and the rest of the filmmaking team.”

In the pic, disgraced LAPD detective Russell Poole (Depp), is a beaten man, unable to solve his biggest case – the murders of music icons Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. After two decades, the case remains open. “Jack” Jackson, a reporter desperate to save his reputation and career, is determined to find out why. He tracks down Poole, and the two enter into an uneasy partnership to finally put this case to rest. As Poole relives the unbelievable story of power, corruption and crime, Jackson begins to unravel a growing web of scandal and deception. Relentless in their hunt for the truth, these two broken men threaten to crack the foundation of the LAPD all the while fighting for their own redemption.

Miriam Segal and her Good Films are producing. Christian Contreras is writing the screenplay adapted from Randall Sullivan’s book “LAbyrinth: A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G., the Implication of Death Row Records’ Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal.”

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Open Road Films by Tom Ortenberg, CEO, and Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, Elliott Kleinberg; and by UTA Independent Film Group and WME Global on behalf of the filmmakers along with Good Universe.
